SELECTORS OF THE 15TH MIKROFAF: FRESH FRAMES
We present to you this year’s selection team, who have chosen the films in four competition categories.
INDIE FILM:

UNA GUNJAK
Una is a director and editor from Sarajevo. Allegedly she lives in Paris, but she’s actually spent most of her life in airports. She created “The Chicken”, “Salamat from Germany”, and “The Excursion”. “Foot-ism” frustrates her as a life philosophy, but she adores it as an aesthetic style.

DANILO CEKOVIĆ
Danilo Cekovic studied film directing at the Academy of Arts in Belgrade. During his studies, he shot short narrative and documentary films. His short film “Garden of Dreams” was selected for the Belgrade Festival of Documentary and Short Films. JELENA NOVAKOVIĆ
Jelena was born in 2000 in Novi Sad. She is studying Digital Arts at the Faculty of Media and Communication. Since early childhood, she has been involved in filmmaking and had completed more films by the age of 13 than she has now while studying film. In addition to writing scripts, directing and editing, she always composes music for her films

GORAN NIKOLIĆ
Goran Nikolić was born on May 26 1992, in Belgrade. He swims, lives, and will die in the whirlwind of Serbian cinema. He has directed, assisted, and killed time on numerous sets, working on both short and long forms. These include narrative films, documentaries, and some undefined forms that arise from television’s hyperproduction. He debuted with ”Heroes” in 2022 and barely managed to get it out to the public (since meditative films without dialogue are highly popular). His new, ‘real debut’ is yet to come with his next project, a ‘hard-boiled’ omnibus titled ”Black Pearls”, which is still in the early stages of pre-production.
JUNIOR FILM:

MIA ŠARČEVIĆ
Mia was born in mid-2004 in Podgorica. After finishing medical school, she almost ended up in law school but suddenly decided to study film and media and she’s now pursuing studies at two universities. Her main interest is production, though she’s also drawn to directing. She often watches sad films, and one of her favorites is “Irreversible” by Gaspar Noé.

VEDRANA BOGDANOVIĆ
This is Vedrana Bogdanovic, born in 1999, died in 2024 when she wasn’t accepted into the master’s program at FDU with full government funding, but as a self-funded student. She recently started presenting herself as a graduate art historian, with a thesis topic that takes too long to say. In addition, she is an unqualified journalist (Though she has completed a course!) and writes about culture, art, and film for the portals “I want to go to the theater” and “Youth Vibes”. Besides her published writing, she also writes privately, focusing mainly on plays. This year, she watched 149 films and attended every film festival (The ones you’ve heard of and the ones you haven’t!) in Serbia and the region..

UNA DIMITRIJEVIĆ
Una is 18 years old and was born in Belgrade. She is studying art history at the Faculty of Philosophy. She considers being a film enthusiast a full-time job. If she’s not watching films, she’s making them, and if she’s not making them, she’s talking about them. All of this is shaped by her volunteering at film festivals. Besides film, she’s also interested in the art history she’s studying… sometimes.
The 15th MikroFAF is organized with the support of the Western Balkan Youth Cultural Fund. This multi-year project is supported by the German Federal Foreign Office and implemented by the Regional Youth Cooperation Office (RYCO).
